This policy explicitly addresses data retention periods (Section 5) and the data deletion process (Section 6), as required by Google Play's User Data policy.
01 Introduction
Welcome to EyeCharts ("Company", "we", "our", "us"). EyeCharts provides professional visual acuity software for eye care professionals, available on Smart TVs (LG, Samsung, Amazon Fire), Windows, and Mac, and as a mobile application on Android and iOS.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information obtained through our application and website located at eyecharts.org. It also explains your rights regarding your data, including how to request data retention information or deletion.
By using EyeCharts, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our services and contact us at email@eyecharts.app.
02 Data We Collect
EyeCharts collects only the minimum data necessary to operate the software license system. We do not require user accounts or personal registration to use the application.
| Data Type | Description | Purpose | Collected |
|---|---|---|---|
| Device Type | Operating system and device model (e.g., LG TV, Windows 11, Android) | License compatibility verification | ✓ Yes |
| Device UUID | A unique, anonymous hardware identifier generated by the device | License activation and anti-piracy | ✓ Yes |
| License Code | The activation code entered by the user to unlock the software | Product activation and validation | ✓ Yes |
| App Version | Installed version of the EyeCharts application | Support and compatibility | ✓ Yes |
| Support Emails | Name and email address if you voluntarily contact our support team | Customer support only | ✓ If contacted |
The UUID is a device-level identifier generated by your operating system or hardware. It is not linked to your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information unless you voluntarily provide that information to our support team. The UUID is used solely to bind the license to a specific device and to prevent unauthorized license sharing.

04 How We Use Your Data
The data we collect is used exclusively for the following purposes:
- License Activation: To validate and bind your purchased license to your device using the device UUID and license code.
- License Transfer: To allow you to deactivate a license on one device and reactivate it on another.
- Fraud Prevention: To detect unauthorized use, license sharing, or piracy of the software.
- Customer Support: To respond to support requests and resolve technical issues you submit via email.
- Software Compatibility: To understand which device types and operating system versions our software is running on, so we can prioritize compatibility updates.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data to third parties for marketing purposes.
05 Data Retention
We retain data only for as long as necessary to provide the licensed service and fulfill legal obligations. Below are the specific retention periods for each type of data we collect.
| Data Type | Retention Period | Reason |
|---|---|---|

After the applicable retention period ends, data is permanently deleted from our systems. You may also request early deletion at any time — see Section 6 below.
If you have never contacted our support team, EyeCharts does not possess any data that identifies you personally. We only hold an anonymous device UUID and the license code associated with your device.
06 Data Deletion
You have the right to request the deletion of any data we hold about your device or account at any time. We will process all verified deletion requests within 30 calendar days.
To request data deletion, follow these steps:
Use the email address below with the subject line: "Data Deletion Request"
Provide your license code and/or the device type and model used with EyeCharts. This allows us to locate your records. You do not need to provide your name if you prefer to remain anonymous.
We will send a confirmation email acknowledging receipt of your request within 5 business days, and complete the deletion within 30 calendar days.
Once deletion is complete, we will notify you by email. Please note that deleting your device UUID and license record will deactivate your license and you will lose access to the application on that device.
Contact for data deletion requests:
email@eyecharts.appIf you request deletion of your device UUID and license code, your EyeCharts license will be permanently deactivated on that device. To continue using EyeCharts after a deletion request, you would need to activate a new or existing license on a new device.
If you only want to remove your support email correspondence but keep your license active, please state this explicitly in your deletion request email.
